- SG1 1840 1d Penny Black - Engraved by Charles & Frederick Heath. Printed by Perkins Bacon & Petch. Small Crown watermark. Imperforate. Issued 6th May 1840.Plates 1a & 1b are the most common. Plates 2 to 11 are scarcer. Inverted watermarks known on all plates except 10. (166 clicks)
