  • SG1 1840 1d Penny Black - Engraved by Charles & Frederick Heath. Printed by Perkins Bacon & Petch. Small Crown watermark. Imperforate. Issued 6th May 1840.Plates 1a & 1b are the most common. Plates 2 to 11 are scarcer. Inverted watermarks known on all plates except 10. (166 clicks)
  • SG1 1840 1d Penny Black - Watermark Inverted - All plates of the Penny Black have been found with inverted watermarks except plate 10. An inverted wartermark usually at least doubles the value of the stamp. The rarest and most valuable plate is 11. (104 clicks)
  • SG13 1841 2d Twopenny Blue - Issued 13th March 1841 white lines were added to the design above and below the queens head along the inner frame design. Plates 3 and 4 were used and both are known with inverted watermarks. (123 clicks)
