Wartime Internment Art Features on Isle of Man Stamps

The British Government used the Isle of Man to intern enemy aliens during both World War 1 and 2 and foreign nationals were brought to the island from all parts of Great Britain.

The prisoners on the Isle of Man represented a diverse range of careers and skills and, among them, were some leading artists. I was interested to read a BBC report, which I decided to share, about how the IoM Post Office has now issued stamps featuring internee art and is celebrating the gathering of various European artists who were interned on the island during WW2.
