Stanley Gibbons Acquires Haworth Stamp Dealing Business
Established in 1964, the business specialises in modern issues of the British Commonwealth including varieties and other items that are difficult for collectors to source and has an excellent reputation for the breadth and quality of the material that it offers.
Mr Haworth will be acting as a consultant to Stanley Gibbons to assist in the sourcing of such material in future. He and his wife Anne will also be running the Haworth stand, a popular feature at Autumn Stampex.
Commenting on the news, Stanley Gibbons Chief Executive, Michael Hall said; "Stanley Gibbons already holds what is probably the largest philatelic stock in the World and this acquisition, contained in over 300 volumes, will enable the Company to significantly enhance the range offered to collectors on our website and through the traditional channels of retail and mail order."
Mr Hall continued by saying; "We are also delighted that Nigel Haworth, with the knowledge and contacts built up over 40 years in the philatelic trade, has agreed to act as a consultant to Stanley Gibbons."
