New GB Stamp Valuation Website Launched

NEWS RELEASE

A new approach to the valuation of stamps has arrived this month with the launch of a website which provides accurate market values for GB stamps calculated from dealers’ actual selling prices.

Market-Movements.com covers all reigns from Queen Victoria to the present day. Stamp values are provided for both mint and used in various conditions together with first day covers, presentation packs and PHQ cards. Values are calculated by averaging dealers’ published selling prices and are updated regularly.

The website is aimed at helping collectors to understand the true value of their collections and assess a fair price to pay for new acquisitions.

Although initially covering only Great Britain, longer-term plans include expanding into Commonwealth and European countries.

For a small monthly charge, subscribers will have access to the full website content, including values for:

· Unmounted and Mounted Mint
· Very fine used, fine used and Average Used
· First Day Covers
· PHQ Cards – Mint and FDI
· Presentation Packs
· Smilers Generic Sheets

Stamp and watermark illustrations are provided and cover most stamps up to the end of the reign of George VI. Thereafter, illustrations of definitives are provided, but the large number of commemorative issues during the reign of Elizabeth II means that this reign has not been fully illustrated.

Market-Movements has been tracking GB stamp prices since 2008 and the website includes GB stamp inflation rates calculated from this data.
