Latest Jersey Post Issue Features A Glow In The Dark Stamp

Artwork created by the poet Edward Lear featuring "Dong with the Luminous Nose" on the 80p value stamp which is one of two stamps in the set chosen to be the Jersey Post's Europa 2010 issue. Depictions of the Pushmi-Pullyu from Dr Doolittle, Alice in Wonderland plus Rudyard Kipling's How the Elephant Got its Trunk have also been chosen to feature on stamps in the set.

According to the Jersey Post website; "During the printing process, special luminous ink was applied to the 80p value stamp to enhance the end of the Dong’s strap-on nose and really bring to life the tale portrayed on the stamp – the nose ‘glows in the dark’. ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’ by Edward Lear appears on the First Day Cover envelope and the Presentation Pack shows an open book with many well known characters from children’s favourite stories leaping out from the pages."
