HAMPEX 2010 Receives Support from Stanley Gibbons

The HAMPEX organisers (Hampshire Philatelic Federation) report they are expecting up to 40 children from schools in the Bognor, Cosham, Purbrook, Lovedean, and Southampton areas. Portsmouth and District Philatelic Society are kindly sponsoring both the lunches and coaches that will get the children to the event.

In addition to the Junior Workshop, HAMPEX will host a large competitive exhibition with more than 40 frames of exhibits in all classes from Traditional to Thematic and Open Class Philately which will all be judged to National Standards. Children will be invited to display sheets for two sheet and four sheet competitions as well as a one sheet non competition. Every child taking part will receive a certificate to commemorate their participation.

HAMPEX will also feature an invited display of Hampshire's postal history charting the important part Hampshire has played in carrying the nation's mail, accompanied by a Souvenir Brochure sponsored by Stanley Gibbons.

Societies from across Hampshire have supported the event through the donation of stamps and other philatelic items and more than 25 dealers will also be in attendance on the day including Stanley Gibbons who will be showcasing their catalogues, albums and accessories. Stanley Gibbons Auctions Manager, Colin Avery, will also be available to give brief appraisals for any items collectors are looking to sell or consign to auction. An appraisal from Colin Avery can be booked in advance on freephone 0800 731 8052 (ask for the Buying and Processing Department). Alternatively prospective sellers can email  buyers@stanleygibbons.co.uk

For more information about the HAMPEX event contact the organisers using the HAMPEX Hotline for dealers on 01329 845492 or, for general visitor information, call 01794 514902.
